Therapeutic Style:

My clinical work is grounded in an integrative approach, which consists of CBT, interpersonal, emotion-focused, mindfulness, and self-compassion therapeutic skills. I strive to help individuals achieve wellness in all realms of their lives, including biological, psychological, family, social, and cultural aspects.

Supervision Style:

I utilize a developmental approach to work collaboratively with supervisees at their clinical level. In addition, I work towards developing a safe and open learning environment in our supervisor-supervisee relationship to help supervisees form and/or refine their clinical style and therapeutic approach in a multicultural context.

Professional Interest:

I am interested in providing a number of psychological services, namely individual and group counseling, outreach, workshops, psychological assessment, and research. I am especially passionate in working with individuals of minority or marginalized statuses, such as race/ethnicity, country of origin, and LGBT. Other areas of interest are: 

  • Emotional difficulties
  • Relational issues
  • Family of origin issues
  • Cultural/acculturation issues

I can also provide services in Mandarin, Cantonese, and Malay.

Personal Interest:

Family, friends, food, and fun are the four important F’s in my life. I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. Cooking, playing badminton, traveling, and reading are some of my favorite pastimes.
