My clinical work is grounded in an integrative approach, which consists of CBT, interpersonal, emotion-focused, mindfulness, and self-compassion therapeutic skills. I strive to help individuals achieve wellness in all realms of their lives, including biological, psychological, family, social, and cultural aspects.
I utilize a developmental approach to work collaboratively with supervisees at their clinical level. In addition, I work towards developing a safe and open learning environment in our supervisor-supervisee relationship to help supervisees form and/or refine their clinical style and therapeutic approach in a multicultural context.
I am interested in providing a number of psychological services, namely individual and group counseling, outreach, workshops, psychological assessment, and research. I am especially passionate in working with individuals of minority or marginalized statuses, such as race/ethnicity, country of origin, and LGBT. Other areas of interest are:
- Emotional difficulties
- Relational issues
- Family of origin issues
- Cultural/acculturation issues
I can also provide services in Mandarin, Cantonese, and Malay.
