My goal is to work with the student to help them to achieve their full potential. I help the student to examine their past and present experiences as well as their hopes for the future to better understand the impact these have on their present situation. I emphasize the importance of incorporating multiple forms of treatment, including medication, psychotherapy, diet, physical activity, and mindfulness into the student’s treatment plan.
My clinical interests include emphasizing a holistic treatment approach to various psychiatric illnesses. I plan to specialize in child and adolescent psychiatry with particular interest in helping those patients transition to young adulthood.
Groups and Liaison Roles:
I am a member of the American Psychiatric Association and the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
After completing my undergraduate degree in Psychology at Miami University (Oxford, Ohio), I attended the University of Toledo College of Medicine where I completed my Doctor of Medicine. I am currently in my third year of residency training in General Psychiatry at The Ohio State University. In the summer of 2018, I will be starting the two year fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at Nationwide Children’s Hospital.
I enjoy spending time outdoors walking my dog and exploring new trails. I practice hot vinyasa flow and hatha yoga on a regular basis. I like reading and incorporating mindfulness and relaxation techniques into my daily routine.
