Therapeutic Style:

I take a holistic, patient-centered approach to providing psychiatric care from the biopsychosocial model in medicine. As a Child and Adolescent psychiatrist, I often conceptualize my work with students from a developmental perspective, pulling in family dynamics.

Supervision Style:

My supervision style focuses around assuring that the trainee is developing competence in caring for a diverse population of students. I approach this from a developmental perspective while supporting the trainee as he or she develops autonomy in patient care. The relationship between supervisor and trainee is ideally one of trust, compassion and support throughout the development of both professionally.

Professional Interests:

I practice general psychiatry from a developmental perspective. I am interested in furthering my skills in mindfulness, treating OCD and anxiety disorders and addiction medicine. I am also interested in Animal Assisted Activities.

Groups and Liaison Roles:

I serve as the liaison to the College of MedicineDepartment of Psychiatry and Student Health Center.

Educational Background:

I received my MD and Ph.D. from The Ohio State University where I also completed my residency in general psychiatry. Additionally, I completed fellowship in a combined child and adolescent psychiatry program with Ohio State and Nationwide Children's Hospital. Prior to pursuing medical training, I practiced pharmacy.

Personal Interests:

I avidly knit and read, usually simultaneously. I also enjoy swimming and am learning how to be a better photographer.
