Therapeutic Style:

I help the student to examine their past and present experiences and better understand the impact this has on their present concerns. I believe that treatment can come in a variety of formats, whether that be through medication, therapy, lifestyle modification, or a combination of all.  I work with the student to help them to achieve their full potential.

Supervision Style:

I provide supervision appropriate to the trainee's level of training. Supervision should be based on trust and compassion, while challenging oneself to take ones knowledge to the next level.  I promote the use of evidence-based medicine and objective measures.

Professional Interests:

My professional interests include learning about, teaching, and utilizing psychotherapy techniques as well as being involved in the education of trainees from all disciplines. I enjoy working with individuals from all walks of life, particularly members of the transgender community.

Groups and Liaison Roles:

Through Ohio State’s Counseling and Consultation Service, I am involved in Research Committee, Transgender Advocacy Team, and Clinical Services Committee. On a local and national level, I am involved in the Ohio Psychiatric Physicians Association, American Psychiatric Association, and the Association for College Psychiatry.

Educational Background:

After completing my undergraduate degree at Case Western Reserve University, I attended Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine, where I completed my Medical Degree as well as my Residency in General Psychiatry. While in residency, I served as Chief Resident.
