Nicole Parish, M.A., LPC

Therapeutic Style:

As a therapist, I believe that you are the expert on your life. My goal is to walk alongside you as you navigate and explore your experiences. I want to develop a warm, supportive, and collaborative environment where you can develop insight into yourself, focus on your goals, and take steps towards the life you want. I hope to emphasize self compassion, establishment of personal values, and approaching obstacles with curiosity and openness. My therapeutic styles usually involve aspects of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, and Strengths Based Therapy. I also enjoy incorporating art and journaling into therapy, in order to encourage self expression and exploring one’s thoughts and feelings in a creative way.

Professional Interests:

My professional interests include: anxiety disorders, social anxiety, life transition stress, and spiritual / religious topics. I also have an interest in existential and meaning-of-life concerns. I am passionate about identity development and value formation.

Groups and Liaison Roles:

This fall, I will be co-facilitating the Queer Undergraduate Group alongside Sarah Peters, Psy.D. I will also be co-facilitating the Art Space workshop with Kaylee Enscoe, M.A., LPCC-S. My liaison role will be for Housing and Residence Education for Carmen on north campus.

Educational Background:

I completed my Bachelors of Arts in Psychology from Ohio State University in 2018. I then obtained my Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health from Capital University in 2022.

Personal Interests:

Outside of work, I enjoy playing board games, watching movies, solving puzzles and escape rooms, and spending time with friends. I love creating art and journaling as well, and frequently engage with artistic journaling and drawing.
