Children of Alcoholics: Alcohol does not only affect the drinker

Children who grow up in a home with one of more alcoholic parents can feel the aftermath into adulthood. Growing up with an alcoholic parent may manifest in adulthood as problems with intimacy, problems with relationships in general, greater difficulty in ability to trust, difficulty identifying and managing emotions, a higher likelihood of depression, poor boundaries, higher rates of co-dependency and the list goes on. There are counselors at CCS who specialize in working with Adult Children of Alcoholics and help to ease the ripple effects of growing up with and alcoholic parent.

If you feel you have been affected by another person’s alcohol use and would like some help with this below are some potential helpful links for you.
