Students Helping Students

Buckeyes are resilient and there are many ways you can support other students, cultivate a Culture of Care and keep our community strong.

Opportunities Through Student Life

Join the mental health movement and take part in one of the many organizations on campus dedicated to positive mental health and well-being:

  • Peers Reaching Out - Peers REACHing Out (“PROs”) is a undergraduate student cohort of the Ohio State University Suicide Prevention Program who serve as campus leaders in suicide prevention and mental health promotion through the pillars of outreach, education and advocacy.
  • Wellness Coaching - Wellness Coaches meet one-on-one with students to help increase their ability to create the life they want to live, both now and in the future. REACH Trainers are advocates for the work of the OSU Suicide Prevention Program and help to further our mission to create a campus culture of care. Because we believe that preventing suicide is a shared campus responsibility, we are intentional about recruiting and training staff, faculty, graduate, and professional students who represent a broad range of diverse roles and backgrounds across our campuses to facilitate our trainings. Those who join the team receive excellent training and ongoing support throughout the year to become campus leaders in suicide prevention.
